Our childcare studio's flow seamlessly into the outdoors, where nature becomes an extension of the learning space, inviting curiosity, movement and meaningful connection with the world around us.
We think of the environment as the third educator, alongside the child and the adult. That means every space at The Learning Garden has been deliberately designed, not just furnished.
Our Environment
Our six learning studios are designed around developmental stages, not just ages.
Materials are open-ended, natural and carefully chosen. Loose parts, clay, textiles, light. Spaces that prompt wondering rather than direct it.
The intention is to create spaces that feel homely to support the feeling of belonging and engagement of learning.
The learning studios
Our standalone art studio is used by every age group across the week.
This is not a craft corner — it's a genuine research space where children work with real materials: a pottery wheel, clay, charcoal, oil pastels, collage, paint.

The art studio
Our outdoor space is large, open and deliberately natural — wooden forts, grass, bark, sand, creek beds, bush tucker plants (such as our native Lilly Pilly trees) and the kind of loose parts that children use differently every single day.
Climbing, digging, building, getting genuinely muddy. Indoor and outdoor areas connect fluidly, so children can follow their learning wherever it takes them.
We also have large undercover patios and lots of shade offered via our trees or shade sails to children aren’t ever in the sun too long.
Outdoor learning spaces
Our on-site vegetable gardens are a working part of the centre, not a display.
Children plant, water and harvest fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the year, building a real understanding of where food comes from and what it takes to grow it.
Here you can find our Mulberry tree, and our diverse insect biodiversity.
What they grow also makes it to our kitchen, and their plate!
The gardens
Meals at The Learning Garden are prepared fresh daily by our on-site chef — not delivered, not reheated.
Our daily menu is built around whole, seasonal ingredients that fuel growing bodies without the compromise, with all dietary needs and allergies catered for.

The surrounding bushland — Mununjali Country — frames our outdoor areas and shapes the way children connect with the natural world.
For our Karang kindergarten children, that connection goes deeper still. Once a week, small groups head out for Jagun Bush Kindy — time on Country with dedicated educators, away from the studio entirely. Walking the land, learning from it, building a relationship with the natural world that no indoor environment can replicate.
